A longtime and faithful friend of Jacob & Co., @badgalriri chose to wear her own Brilliant Northern Lights during her Superbowl live performance. Her red overalls, a Rihanna signature, matched the red crystal and red alligator strap of the Northern Lights. As for the 323 white diamonds set on the 44-mm case, they matched the lyrics to Rihanna's hit song.
“So shine bright, tonight you and I, We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky” / Diamonds by Rihanna

For nearly fifteen years, Rihanna has been a repeat customer and friend to the brand and its founder and creative director, Jacob Arabo. “Rihanna is like a goddess, says Jacob Arabo. She has it all, a sense of leadership like no other, heaps of talent and a unique, vibrant energy. During the Superbowl performance, she showed once again that she owns the stage, just any stage. And she's a demanding customer. She only ever goes for the best of what we do.”
The Brilliant Northern Lights is a stainless steel, high jewelry timepiece set with 11.26 ct of pavé diamonds. It harbors a high watchmaking skeleton movement with graphic bridge layout, exclusive to Jacob & Co. It's covered by an industry-wide rarity : a full red crystal. This is one of several Jacob & Co. timepieces and pieces of high jewelry Rihanna owns and is seen wearing on a regular basis.

During the pregnancy, mothers take great care of footwear and the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low marries a progressive aesthetic with performance ready credentials. Features such as a reinterpreted lug– derived from Salomon’s signature Speedcross pattern – and an inner mesh slip-on shoe nod to Salomon’s trail running heritage. Bold hues and a built-in ripstop gaiter speak to MM6’s unconventional yet casual design ethos, resulting in a distinct, modern silhouette. The shoe is available in three sporty tricolour colorways: black and white, red and pink and multicolor khaki and grass green.

On November 11th 2022 MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon presented the first chapter of a collaboration that speaks to the brands’ shared ethos of transitional design, first seen in the Maison’s Autumn/Winter 2022 show.
Drawing inspiration from the everyday, the collection is a celebration of the unsung beauty of quotidian dressing; of the eclectic blur of clothes that pass us by on our cities’ streets. Scuffed leather twinsets sit next to blockish denim trucker jackets, while boxy, shrug-shouldered wool suits are worn with bold-hued trail sneakers.
These sneakers make up the first iteration of the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon collaboration, fusing the fashion house’s signature irreverence with the outdoor sports apparel label’s performance-oriented design approach. Comprising two new silhouettes – the Cross Low and the Cross High – both shoes strike an unexpected harmony between aesthetic unconventionality and high-tech calibre.
The MM6 Maison Margiela design team say:
“Our motivation was to create a shoe that could easily transition between cityscapes and the great outdoors — a single product that both maintained Salomon’s high-performance specifications and also resonated with MM6 Maison Margiela’s contemporary aesthetic. The core idea, though, was the same as it always is for us. Our goal was to push Salomon’s performance-driven designs to such an extreme that they seamlessly integrated into the MM6 Maison Margiela wardrobe.”

Launched in 1997, MM6 Maison Margiela continuously reimagines the contemporary wardrobe with wit and irreverence and offers collections that subtly nod to the Maison’s archive while standing entirely on their own.
Sartorial conventions are routinely bent and broken. Conceptual essentials are created using unique fabric treatments, resulting in a distinctive wardrobe that spans All-Gender ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories and leather goods. A horizontal line of white stitches attaching the MM6 label to the back of the garment is distinctively visible from the exterior. MM6 Maison Margiela is part of the OTB group.
